To all of my lovely readers, I know it’s been a while since my last post. I decided to take a step back and focus fully on myself and getting my life together. I think taking a step back is good for your soul. It allows you to gain perspective on what is going on around you. I felt like I couldn’t fully poor my soul into blogging this past month because it wouldn’t have been quality content.

In the past few months, my life has been all over the place. My business has been picking up drastically, personal relationships are developing, I got a puppy and moved into my dream apartment. These things may seem like day-to-day scenarios, but there is so much detail that goes into each piece. I wanted to take the time to step away and gain perspective so I can come back stronger. I love peace and order, so this is what I needed to do as a form of self-care.

I’m a very intuitive person, and I believe that people can feel whatever energy you present. I always want to be authentic and give my readers real raw content. I hope you all didn’t miss me too much. The good news is that I’m back, and I’m ready to drop some jewels for success and lessons on becoming a better person for yourself.

What does it mean to take a step back?

Taking a step back means withdrawing from something to gain clarity and an understanding of the bigger picture. When you take the time to do this, it allows you to move forward in the right direction. If you are too focused on one thing, it can create stress and anxiety, which leads to breakdowns. If you ever feel like something is too much for you at the moment, it’s okay to step back and revisit it later.

Signs you need to take a step back

Feeling off balance

If you feel like you can’t gain control of what’s going on at the moment, you may be off-balance. I know this may seem counterintuitive, but you need to let go of the sense of needing to be in control in order to regain your balance again.

Stuffing feelings

When you have moments where you want to break down and don’t know what to do with your emotions, this is a clear sign. If you don’t take a moment to feel your feelings throughout your body, it can cause intense stress and prevent you from seeing things clearly.

Body Hurts

Have you ever sat down with yourself and felt every part of your body? If you take a step back and become present with yourself, you can feel everything. Believe it or not, your body tells you everything you need to know if you take the time to listen to it.

Rudeness

Rudeness is a big one; if you feel like you want to pop off on those around you and have a lot of negative energy, you definitely need to take some time away from the situation. I believe we are all good people, but when encountering a situation that brings negative energy into our lives. Taking a step back creates tension so you can release and create positive energy.

Not Being Present

When you aren’t present in the moment and what is in front of you, it can take a toll on you. I have trouble with this in my day-to-day life because I’m an over-thinker and problem solver. Not being able to be present has caused me to turn positive situations into something negative and unbalanced because I wasn’t living in the moment. I was thinking about what’s going to happen next instead of just being in the moment.

How to take a step back?

Get clear on why you need to take a break

Take some time to gain clarity on what is making you feel the way you feel. It’s okay to go silent and be with your thoughts.

Plan your getaway and be upfront with your intentions

Strategize your next steps and be true to yourself on what you want out of this situation. Is it something you want to let go of fully, or is it something you want to revisit later?

Understand the situation and gain clarity

Understanding exactly what is going on in your head makes you put your mind at ease. This, my friend, is the road to clarity. Once you get to this point, clarity is bliss, and you should start the process of moving forward.

Don’t reengage unless you’re ready

If you still feel like you need time, take as much time as you need. Life is a marathon, not a race. Take your time.

Make plans to move forward

Start taking steps to move forward with the situation and have a clear vision of the direction you want to go.

In conclusion, I want everyone to know that taking a step back is good for you, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. We have this notion that we have to be on all the time to keep up with everyone else. In reality, you need to keep up with yourself and feel what’s going on inside you. No one can do this for you. This is your task, so take it on like a boss.
